California Waste Solutions is constructing and will operate the first privately owned integrated waste management facility in Vietnam.
This development in Ho Chi Minh City will cover 128 hectares (approximately 320 acres) and was one of only four American business initiatives Vietnam’s Prime Minister discussed during his last visit to the United States.
With its state of the art, environmentally protective design, the Da Phuoc Integrated Waste Management Facility will be an environmental model for the country and other parts of the world.
The project features a solid waste landfill built according to US standards, a materials recovery facility (MRF) and a composting operation.
The landfill will take in a minimum of 3,000 tons per day, the MRF will be capable of recovering at least 500 tons of recyclables per day and the composting operation will handle up to an additional 1,000 tons per day of material that would otherwise be sent to the landfill.
Facility amenities include beautiful park spaces suitable for weddings and even a small zoo.
The total project cost is over $400 million, including $107 million in capital costs.
