Own full-cycle AP (and supporting AR) for a tight-knit Finance team drive accuracy, timeliness, and continuous improvement of the general ledger.

Description

The Full-Cycle Accounting Specialist manages and performs all accounts payable, along with supporting relevant accounts receivable as needed in a small team, related accounting projects, and activities in the Finance department. Relies on past experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals; works under general supervision with a certain degree of creativity expected and limited latitude allowed. Opportunities to expand the role (and/or further specialization) and added responsibilities in due course.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timeliness.
• Manage and process AP/AR inputs and payments/receipts.
• Analyze and generate AP/AR financial reports and related documents.
• Communicate with counterparties, as needed, on transactional postings.
• Assist with other financial and accounting projects as assigned.
• Issue W-9s and 1099s following year-end.
• Prepare various accounting statements and financial reports.
• Provide credit references to potential counterparties.
• Develop and maintain files and archives.

Requirements

• 3–4 years of directly related accounting experience.
• Familiarity with standard accounting concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Pro.
• Proficiency with commonly used software programs including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Proficiency in database management.
• Undergraduate degree in Accounting.
• Ability to work in a small, close-knit, codependent/collaborative team environment.
• Excellent attention to detail, time management, and adaptability to address changes.
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task and excellent communication skills.
• Proactively manage and consistently meet relevant deadlines.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with NetSuite.
• Leadership experience.
• Greater Bay Area-based and immediate availability.
